One of the best ways to get and obtain radiant-looking skin is to exfoliate at least once a week. Exfoliating removes the dead skin cells and promotes a new and healthy glow. Exfoliating is important not only for the face, but for the entire body as well.
When to Exfoliate
If you are a client who regularly waxes unwanted hair, we recommend exfoliating a day or two before a waxing appointment. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and helps the wax grip the hair, not the skin. There is no need to exfoliate the face before a facial appointment. Why you may ask? Almost all facials include an exfoliating process during the appointment.
How to Exfoliate
There are many ways to exfoliate. We are going to help break down a couple of options and find the best one for you:
Our first recommendation is to purchase exfoliating pads. The Wax Shop Extra Strength Exfoliating Pads are designed as an at-home mini peel and exfoliating treatment. Simply use one of the pads in a small circular motion on the facial area, covering from the forehead to the neck.
Our second recommendation is to purchase Eminence Organics’ Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant. This product comes in a powder form and is great for all skin types. In the palm of your hand, shake some of the dermafoliant and add a little water to create a paste. Again, in a circular motion, rub the desired areas and focus on specific spots of concern. Common concerning areas are where wrinkles appear or where you typically break out.
Our last recommendation is to include the use of a loofah into your daily routine. The Wax Shop Loofah is another excellent way to exfoliate. This loofah is hypo-allergenic and designed for all skin types. Grab your favorite body wash or body cleanser and squirt a desired amount onto the loofah. Wet the cleanser and gently rub the areas of focus. Rinse the body and enjoy the smooth skin finish!
There are many options when it comes to exfoliating the skin. Finding what you like the best can be the most challenging part of fitting exfoliation into your skin care regimen. Now that we have shared our top three favorite methods, we hope that you have found your next approach. Don’t forget to exfoliate and rock that youthful glow!
